7/10/11
Hey everyone! It's summer and we hope you're enjoying the beautiful weather! Yesterday we had the opportunity to perform at the "Fight for Faye" fundraiser held at the North Layton Junior High School. The turnout for the fundraiser was spectacular. It's always inspiring to see family, friends and community come together for such great causes...especially for Faye and her family. We sang around 11am but there were so many cool things going on we had to break out the camera to catch some of the other things going on. The video is pretty short, so enjoy it while it lasts: If you haven't already go visit Faye's blog to get updates on her progress. Here's the link: http://fayesfight.blogspot.com/ Along with the fundraiser for Faye, we were able to sing at the Heber Valley girls camp a few days earlier (9/6/11) which was a blast. Here's a couple pictures...but If you'd like to see more from the event, visit our facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/Vocalocity Kaysville and South Jordan Concerts 6/18/11

Here it is! Our Video log from the weekend. All the video is taken around the South Jordan Country Fest. Earlier on in the day we had the opportunity to perform in Kaysville for their city celebration. We were in such a rush between Kaysville and South Jordan that we didn't get any pics from kaysville. We do want to give a shout out to Poll Sound for providing an amazing sound system and to Bryce for doing a killer job at the mixing table. Monday was awesome! We had 2 great performances at Wayne High School in beautiful Bicknell, Utah. Thanks to Cassey, Riley, Tatiana, Rhett and everyone that helped get us out there and made everything go smoothly! Keep reading below for a few highlights from our visit but before we go over the highlights we had some fun with a video of Ryan doing his beat box solo. Here's a REMIX version of Ryan's beatboxing from that day: Highlights: -Lighters? Yup. We had a Vocalocity first during our 2nd performance at Wayne H.S. Once we started into "Bring Him Home" the lighters came out...not the fake iphone app lighters, but the (flint & fuel) real deal. Thanks for setting the mood guys....sorry they got taken away by the authorities. *Note to students at future High School shows: Don't bust out lighters during indoor concerts or you'll get busted. :) -Dance off. These rock. We NEVER get tired of seeing new dance moves! Bicknell's got some crazy good dancers! -Meeting the great students and teachers at Wayne High School -Lunch from Sunglow Restaurant (The smothered burritos are the best.) -Wayne High School Auditorium--Can't pinpoint why but this auditorium just sounds really good. -Fake Police Man in Police Car as we entered the city. Didn't know he was fake till' we were leaving Bicknell. We were commenting on the way home that we couldn't believe how long the police officer was sitting in the exact same spot as when we arrived early in the morning...then we noticed that it was a dummy in the drivers seat. Haha!!! Good job Bicknell Police Department! You got us! Thanks Wayne County for the good times! ![]() Bob Eggett Fundraiser--Best Ever!!!

Recently, we had 2 concerts in Nephi, Utah, where we performed for the middle school and Juab High School. The concerts were a blast and all the students were great. During the concerts, Jake told all the students if we gained 50 fans from facebook we'd record a Justin Bieber song and post it on YouTube. We added 300 far surpasing the 50 we asked for! Wow, we weren't expecting that kind of response! Thanks Juab High and Juab Middle School for such a positive reaction! We had a blast! As promised, here's the video: Vocalocity's Halloween Video Extravaganza!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! We just got back from doing 3 concerts over the last 2 days. Noah Webster Academy in Orem and 2 more in Nephi, Utah...(Juab High School & Juab Junior High). They were great shows! While traveling, we were able to put together a short video while in Nephi. As we drove into Nephi we noticed a lot of businesses had done some Halloween decorating along main street so we decided to put together a little Halloween video...so here you go! ALSO...here's a few photo's from after the Juab High School Concert: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This last pic ended up out of focus...we forgot to turn on the auto focus...Rats! We recently had a concert at the Huntsville Library in Huntsville, Utah. We set up the camera and filmed a little after concert chit chat. Here's the video...enjoy! Ryan Teaches "How to Beatbox"
8/28/10
We found a video today of Ryan teaching the fundamentals of beatboxing to kids over at Canyon Rim Elementary school. We always get a calls and e-mails from parents and teachers after elementary school performances. It seem the kids like to take their beatboxing skills back to class. Thanks Ryan for getting the kids started young! :) Vocalocity, T-Minus5, FOX13, Acappellastock

![]() We look forward to the Cherry Hill Concert every year. Saturday night marked the 4th year we've performed there. Similar to the Freedom Academy (earlier post), we know there's ALWAYS going to be a great crowd. The crowd ranges from 50-100 people each year, but don't let the small numbers fool you! They're there to be entertained! Saturday night lived up to our expectations and more. Here's some of the highlights: -Ryan doing an impromtu beat box solo taking requests from crowd...some of which we've never heard him do before: Elvis Pressly, Micky Mouse, ect -Group of girls stage left dancing throughout entire concert -Man in crowd laughing at all our jokes... -James getting back shoes and shirt that he left in the storage room from last years performance -Multitudes of people asking Ryan how he makes all the noises with his mouth (Beatboxing) There are many more...but we'll stop for now. See you next year Cherry Hill! Sidenote: The ice cream shop next to minature golfing has DELICIOUS ice cream. If you go to Cherry Hill, go get some ice cream! Recording, Recording and more Recording...

We just finished recording another song last night, which brings us one step closer to completing our album! Awesome! This recording process is crazy. Here's an over simplified version of some of the things we go through: -Set up MIDI/scratch tracks -Schedule group members to come record their part -Set aside 1-3 hrs per person....per part to record. -Edit---This takes A LOT of time. Haven't been keeping track of time spent. Maybe this next song we will... -Pitch Correct each track---Yeah, we use pitch correction. We'd be crazy if we didn't. -Send off to Pro Mixer--he sets levels, beefs up the tracks and makes everthing silky smooth -Send off to Pro Masterer--Puts the icing on the cake. "Tightens up the audio". We go through this process on every song (minus the last step of mastering). We'd like to think we're getting more efficient at it the more we do it. Only time and audio samples will tell. Next song....here we come! Freedom Academy Concert
8/3/10
As a music group, most of the gigs, concerts and shows we do tend to be completly random. For example, our last 3 show were as follows: -Private retirement party -Music School---Assembly -Mortuary---Memorial Service Performing at random venues is part of the fun of performing...but the longer we've been performing together, the more we appreciate venues/people that have us back year after year. One of those such venues is the "Freedom Academy" held at the National Guard Training facility: Camp Williams. This will be Vocalocity's 6th year performing for them. Fortunatly most of the people attending are there for the first time and have never heard of Vocalocity. Every year it's a new crowd...(except for the organizers)...and it's a guaranteed high energy crowd. Exactly what any performer wants in a crowd! As a side note: most of the people attending are in some form of school leadership at their high school. It's fun to see that those leading their schools are some of the most energetic people around. Anyways, here's a big thanks to Freedom Academy for having us back for a 6th Year: THANK-YOU!!!! We're looking forward to it! -Jake, Jason, Ryan, Branden, James |
