foun.da.tion: n., a basis upon which something stands or is supported, i.e. James Case. Vocalocity's songs are built on the "foundation" of James’ rich, deep, soulful voice; he makes Vocalocity sound like manly men. Not only does he rumble the subwoofers with his bottomless bass voice, he sings with great emotion and portrays his true passion for first-class a cappella music in his performance. He is steadily becoming one of the legendary basses in the a cappella world.

What's the best thing about being a Bass singer?
Getting all the ladies. I'm kidding! I'd have to say the best thing about being the Bass are the bass lines themselves. Next to the melody or lead of a song, the bass line seems to be one of the catchiest lines to sing.
How low can you sing?
In "Aint No Sunshine" I sing some low B's. None of our songs require me to go any lower.
Do you play any instruments (besides voice)?
Yes, I enjoy playing the guitar along with a little harmonica, trumpet and euphonium (looks like a mini tuba). I can even squeak out some tunes on a bagpipe.
What are you most looking forward to for the remainder of the year?
In Vocalocity: Completing the album "Harmonic Fuel". To finish it will be a big accomplishment.
Outside the group: I'm looking forward to winter. Snowboarding, snowshoeing, and skiing! Bring on the snow!
What's the funniest thing that's happened since you've been in the group?
It wasn't funny at the time but we sang at a benefit concert in Ogden about 6 months ago. Right before going on stage, Jason sprayed a couple sprays of something into his mouth and handed me the bottle. I grabbed it and sprayed a couple sprays in my mouth only to find out it was cough suppressant spray. The kind that numbs your throat and vocal chords. NOT a good idea. It felt terrible trying to sing with numb vocal chords! Jason seemed to be fine and not struggling with his vocals but (fortunately), it eventually wore off and I was able to finish the concert strong.
Any advice to other singers out there?
Drink lots of milk and eat lots of peanuts before you perform. No, don't do that! Seriously though...Love your voice. Find your strengths and build on it. ALWAYS have fun. NEVER use cough spray before performing.
What is the most rewarding part about being in Vocalocity?
-Being able to do something I love (sing), and see others enjoy it.
-Hanging out with the guys
-Traveling
-Meeting new friends
